About Us
River Ridge Treatment
Centers’ fundamental objective is to help the chemically dependent person
achieve freedom from chemical dependency. Dedicated and skilled specialists in dependency
counseling help the chemically dependent individual make the transition from
drug and alcohol abuse to structured sobriety and recovery.
River Ridge has found
that by offering both day and evening programs on an outpatient basis,
treatment is more convenient and less costly for the client. The dependent
person continues with their day-to-day responsibilities of work and community
commitments.
At River Ridge, each
client is treated as an individual and treatment focuses on a client’s personal
recovery needs. River Ridge provides treatment not only to the dependent client
but also to those persons who are close to the client. We believe that when an
individual is experiencing drug or alcohol problems, those who have a close
relationship with the individual will also suffer. It is our belief that
chemical dependency is a family illness affecting all concerned persons.
The principles of
traditional 12-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics
Anonymous continue to be utilized in the treatment program at River Ridge, in
conjunction with elements from more contemporary therapeutic approaches such as
skill building focus groups, Cognitive Skills Training and Rational Emotive
Therapy (R.E.T.), which develop internal motivation and teach the client to
replace problematic thinking patterns with new and positive thoughts and
feelings.
River Ridge offers a
comprehensive assessment and evaluation of each client. Treatment is structured
and focused on the individual. Participation in group sessions, individual
sessions, family conferences, focus groups and Continuing Care groups help the
chemically dependent person not only recover, but to continue to heal.
